There is an old wooden fence in my field.
The boards are weathered.
The gate leans just slightly.
If you didn’t know better, you might think it was simply part of the country landscape.
But on this day… it became a hiding place.
The oldest brother slipped quietly behind the leaning gate, trying so hard not to giggle.
His little brother ran past him, laughing as he searched for a hiding place of his own.
Both believing — fully and completely — that they could not be found.
When I asked if they would like to play hide and seek, I knew it would bring smiles.
What I didn’t know was how perfectly it would capture their bond — the way they play, the way they connect, the way they are little together.
This second portrait was taken in the very same field — just a different game.
A simple game of tag… with a butterfly net.
With a small suggestion — and a couple of gentle rules for safety — the oldest brother took off running, net in hand, determined to catch his little brother.
And just like that… the magic unfolded.
This is the part I love most about my storytelling portrait sessions: watching childhood unfold.
I start by asking parents what their children love to do outside. Then we take that little spark — a game, a chase, a secret mission — and bring it to life. A few gentle suggestions. A couple of simple rules. And then… I step back and let the magic happen.
That’s what I call staging a portrait. Not posing it. Not forcing it. Just giving children the space to be themselves, to play, to laugh, to explore — and letting the camera capture the story as it unfolds.
As a Master Photographer, I have the joy of taking these magical, fleeting moments and turning them into timeless works of art — portraits your family will treasure for years to come.

Because these afternoons, these games, these little adventures?
They are anything but ordinary. And they deserve to be remembered.
