Boys are busy. They are curious, active, and far more interested in doing than standing still and smiling for the camera. Sometimes, because of that, parents don’t always think to bring their boys in for portraits—and that is exactly why this gallery exists.
Thank Heaven for Little Boys was created to show that boys’ portraits don’t have to be posed or forced. I believe in letting boys be boys. Before each session, I take time to learn what a child loves, because that is how we plan a session he will love.
If a boy loves playing outside on my tire swing, than we make sure that swing is part of his session.
If playing with trucks is his favorite thing to do, then I bring in a pile of dirt, add a truck and then the story unfolds right there. I love creating Fine Art Children Outdoor portraits. With every session, I try to tell a story, and for little boys that story is all about who they are.
For boys who love water, mud, and adventure, my Creek Portraits offer a relaxed and playful experience that allows us to get amazing images while he is having fun!
These portraits are not about perfect smiles—they are about saving what will soon be just a memory, what he was like at this magical age. When parents look through this gallery, my hope is that they see images that remind them of who their son is at this age—the energy, the curiosity, the joy.
The following image is of my grandson A little boy that loves playing outside on a rainy day, seeing how many mud puddles he can find, while playing with the baby ducks and the final result is a portrait that I will cherish for years to come.
