Before They’re Running Everywhere | 14 Month Session in Zelienople, PA

There is something incredibly special about photographing this stage of babyhood. This little one is 14 months old — but truly, every baby reaches milestones in their own perfect timing. What makes this milestone so magical is not the number of months… it’s that beautiful in-between stage where they can confidently stand and explore, yet they aren’t fully walking everywhere just yet.

As a fine art Zelienople photographer, I often tell parents this is one of the most important milestones to document before babyhood quietly shifts into full toddler mode — because once they are running, everything changes.

One of the four sweet milestones I encourage families to consider before toddlerhood fully arrives is this: standing but not steady on their feet, still prefers crawling. It is a brief window… and it passes so quickly.

As a fine art Mars, Cranberry Township and Zelienople photographer, I gently guide families through what I call the five most meaningful milestones to document before babyhood turns into toddlerhood:

Newborn – those tiny curled fingers and sleepy stretches that disappear in weeks.
Sitting Up – when their personality begins to shine and they can engage with the world around them.
Crawling – full of curiosity and determination, always on the move but still close to the ground.
Standing or First Steps – steady on their feet, proud and glowing, but not yet running in every direction.
First Birthday – a beautiful celebration that can often be combined with one of these stages, especially sitting or standing portraits.
