Julie's Ultimate Easter Egg Hunt
This year there was no large Easter egg hunt with all the cousin's. My daughter-in-law took this on as a challenge to create a Easter egg hunt that the boys would remember. Soooo..... Julie decided to take advantage of this time for the boys to not only enjoy hunting eggs but to also wear off a lot of energy. She had one thing in her favor, we live on 40 acres of woods, fields and ponds. The Easter egg hunt became a scavenger hunt for Easter eggs.
THE RULES
The boys were given the rules of the game.
1. Every location they found there would be two eggs.
2. Working as a team they were to figure out the clue and retrieve the eggs.
3. The eggs would have a small prize inside. Sometime a piece of candy but other eggs had a slip inside with a reward. ( get out of jail free card, movie night, Dunkin Donuts, pizza night, etc.)
4. One egg would have the next clue inside. There were a total of 48 locations and clues.
5. If they should complete the hunt they will find a golden egg. Good luck boys.
THE CLUES
THE HUNT
So off the boys went only to find out that their mother did not make this an easy game. There were eggs hidden all around the 40 acres. They found eggs around the pond, in the woods, on the stone wall, near the wood piles and so many other spots. The boys had me walking and running all around the property because after all someone had to document this day. LOL
The boys were having a great time but there were also a few tears. Ivan started getting very upset if Dean's egg had the next clue and his only had a prize. He wanted to read the clue even though he can not read. LOL. ( He is quite good at reading his numbers up to 48 though) So to document this event correctly here are a few of the ...
TEARS
Pap joined in on the fun and gave the boys a ride to the next location on his Kabota.
PAP JOINS THE HUNT
Finally after 2 hours the boys found the last clue. This is the clue that would take them to the golden egg! The clue said.
It is taller then the trees and Pap built it!
So this time we all hopped onto the Kabota and road to the other end of the property. There we found Pap's tree stand. The following is what happened next. After climbing into the stand and finding the egg Pap told Dean to throw it down to him before climbing down. So here is our golden egg in flight.
THE GOLDEN EGG
So after a very long 3 MILE Easter egg hunt ( I know because I had my watch set on outdoor walk) the Lonchena Family would like to send hugs out to all of our friends and family. Hopefully next year life will be back to normal. I am pretty sure the scavenger hunt may become a family tradition though. Julie made this day that the boys will never forget.
STAY SAFE
