If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a two-year-old photography expert and Fine Art Children’s Photographer near Mars and Cranberry Township, PA, it’s this:
If a two-year-old is at the photo session… they are completely in charge.
And honestly?
That’s exactly how the magic happens.
Two-year-olds are joyful, unpredictable, curious, and full of personality. They explore, splash, wander, collect, and change direction every 30 seconds—but when you follow their lead instead of trying to direct every moment, the images always turn out beautifully.
So now imagine two two-year-old twin boys at a creek.
Yes, it was an adventure from the very first splash.
These little explorers wasted no time discovering everything around them—the rocks, the water, the sticks, the reflections. I simply followed along, camera ready, letting them set the pace. That’s the secret to photographing toddlers: ( It also is absolutely necessary to have a helper, in this instance their Grammy was there to keep them safe and together)
When you let them steer the session, you capture the most honest, storytelling moments of childhood.
As the creek swirled around them and laughter echoed through the trees, every splash became part of their story. This is the heart of my Fine Art photography—capturing childhood adventures that families can treasure forever.
Moments quietly become memories—and these are the ones meant to last a lifetime.
Each portrait is thoughtfully created as a piece of art, designed to be printed, cherished, and passed down through generations.
